PAINT CORRECTION
Paint correction is the process of permanently removing surface scratches, swirl marks, hazing, marring, and other imperfections in your vehicle’s paint. It’s a powerful way to bring the colour back to its original shine!
Vehicles these days often have a primer coat of paint, then a base coat, sometimes an additional metallic flake or pearl coat, and then a clear top coat. It’s that top coat that needs the most TLC. During the paint correction process, we’re shaving microns of thickness off that top clear coat, to make it as smooth as possible.
The only true way to remove scratches in your vehicle’s paint is with the process of paint correction, one of our specialties at Jacy Auto Detail. Paint correction involves the use of machine polishers and a range of different polishes and graded pads. A fully corrected vehicle when viewed in direct sunlight will show only true reflections and no swirl marks, scratches or blemishes will be visible to the naked eye.
¿When You Should Get the Paint Corrected?
If your vehicle is looking a little lacklustre, or you’re noticing marks that impact the overall look, you might want to consider getting a paint correction. It’s normal for the colour to be less vibrant after a while. The wear and tear is normal—even car washes can contribute to a dull finish.
We can help get your car looking bright, shiny, and new again!
This is an amped up version of polishing your car, and one of our specialities at Jacy Auto Detail. Here’s our expert paint correction process.
You need a clean area to work with. All surface contaminants must be removed. We use a decontamination process to strip off anything that may be stubborn and get in the way of the paint correction phase. You don’t want any dirt, sap, or bugs left on the car, because they can end up right back on the paint later on.
The vehicle surface is clean, it’s time to analyze the painted surface to determine how severe the damage is. Once we have an idea of what we’re working with, we compound the paint to remove any micro-scratches or marks. This is the part of the paint correction process where microns of thickness are being removed from the top clear coat.
It’s time to polish! This will remove any hazing or compound marks in the vehicle paint. Our polishing process brings out the true hue and depth of the colour.
